Community capitol improvement projects
suchas the Boardwalk, Pier, (end of Naugatuck Ave), and Stowe Ave
Beach entrance have all been fully funded. The Stowe Ave project
will be underway in 2 weeks. The Pier project has some legal action
to address, but should be underway when these issues are resolved.
The Boardwalk has design and conservation issues to address but
should be underway when these two concerns are meet.
Safety projects such as security cameras along our business corridor
and beach entrances will began its initial phase on April 29, 2008
we will conduct a surveillance of the areas of concern with the
Milford Police Dept. This will help us to determine camera
placement. The WBA will also address the need of a Yellow Flashing
Traffic light in front of Shore Mart.
APRIL membership drive we must increase our membership so please
renew all memberships and introduce the WBA to a neighbor or
friend...BRING SOME ONE WITH YOU TO THE MEETING. We are a volunteer
community association where our strength is really in the activity
of our volunteers.
Walnut Beach "SPRINGFEST"- support your local business community- ON
Saturday May 3, 2008 start at 11:00am to 4;00pm where Naugatuck Ave
meets Broadway we will conduct our second SPRINGFEST bring your
family and friends, meet Mayor Richetelli, the BLUE FISH Mascot, Art
exhibits and demonstrations, hospitality suite at Beachshore
Condo.Walnut Beach Art Festival we need volunteers---please sign up
Community Clean up crews we need volunteers---please sign up. The
WBA will link up and support Wilderemere Beach in their community
Park project as we did last year---look for good news with this link
up.
Please come out to this very important meeting on April 14th--we
need your support.
Do not forget 7:00pm at St. Gabe's Parrish Hall.
