See the new sign that
will be at Walnut Beach
The sign was commissioned by the Community Development office last
year to satisfy a DEP requirement that a public education
component is included in the Beach Access project at Stowe Avenue.
Three signs were fabricated which will be installed at Stowe Avenue,
Naugatuck Avenue and at Walnut Beach Park. The art work was created
by Dorie Petrochko, a Botanical & Natural Science Illustrator, and
is a composite of dozens of individual drawing of birds, fish,
plants and other marine life. Both the Audubon Coastal Center and
the NOAA Marine Fisheries Division were consulted with the
development of the content. The DEP also provided guidance. The high
definition signs are 30" by 48" and were and were printed by the
Long Island firm Fossil Graphics. They do outdoor graphic display
signage for the Walt Disney Company among others.
